Abstract:

The fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) is a remarkable many-body phenomenon which is important both in its own right and for its connections to other problems in Condensed matter physics and quantum field theory. The essence of the effect is a new and unprecedented type of condensation of the electrons into a highly correlated ground state.
