Abstract:

We show that the spin polarization of the secondary electrons, P(E), yields useful information about the electron-electron interaction. The ratio of majority to minority spin lifetimes is related to the measured values of P(E) by τ↑(E)/τ↓(E =[(1−pB)/(1+pB)][(1+P(E))/(1−P(E))], where pB is the bulk magnetization.
